EURAM, The European Academy of Management, recruits a full-time Executive Officer focused on governance operations management, budget and financial, annual conference and other events, communication and marketing deployment. The Executive Officer must be in relation to the main actors of the association, to maintain the continuity, quality and dynamic of development of the association.

EURAM places a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary theoretical perspectives and methodological pluralism and promotes critical examinations of the historical and philosophical roots of management theory and praxis.
EURAM aims to enhance the quality of research, improve its relevance for responsible and effective practice and contribute to the social and political discourse on management.
Key activities and responsibilities
- contributing to the operations and supporting the process of continuous improvement of the activities of EURAM;
- facilitating strategic and operational decision-making and ensuing its implementation;
- maintaining and developing qualitative relationships with EURAM’s stakeholders.
In addition:
- Assist in organizing and managing the annual academic conference, hosting approximately 2,000 attendees, along with coordinating various ad-hoc events and meetings;
- Co-manage the Association’s financials and budgeting processes;
- Oversee governance activities, ensuring compliance with EURAM’s policies and best practices, managing meetings, distributing relevant documents, and drafting meeting minutes;
- Producing reports and statistics on an on-going basis to support decision-making and strategic decisions;
- Supervise the creation and development of EURAM’s Annual Report;
- Create and manage engaging content for EURAM’s social media platforms;
- Participating in the deployment of projects, including those projects aiming at bridging the gap between academic research and the world of practice, or addressing societal challenges or foster collaboration with other learned societies;
- Facilitating networking opportunities for members through social media and other web-based tools in compliance with GDPR;
- Assisting in the award selection process for research grants and other annual awards with relevant committees.
Job purpose
Reporting to the president, the Executive Officer will be co-managing the setting up and follow-up of governance activities, budget and financial operations, and the deployment and organisation of academic events.
Requirements from the applicant
Perfect fluency in oral and written English as well as IT and relational competencies are a required. This senior position in Brussels offers a friendly, stimulating and international environment with good compensation and benefits. The position involves a full-time job (7 hours per day, 5 days per week) and implies travel for institutional activities of EURAM in accordance with EURAM’s policies and procedures. Considering that the distribution of EURAM activities is not regular throughout the year, but that there are peaks before and during the annual conference and other events, the person in charge would be responsible for allocating the working time to compensate overwork with periods of minor activity.
- Experience in a non-for-profit organisation and/or an academic setting;
- Project management experience in a multi-cultural environment;
- Excellent communication and relational skills;
- Fluency in written and oral English (another language, a plus);
- IT Mindset: strong skills in using IT, including social media and digital tools;
- Team player, quick learner & distinct communicative;
- Diplomatic skills in multi-cultural environment;
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
- Basic knowledge in accounting and finance principles;
- Ability to work autonomously in a project-based style;
- Ability to work in Belgium (valid work permit) if not already residing in Belgium.

The position, based in Brussels, implies full time schedule of 35 hours per week under Belgian law (7 hours per day, 5 days per week). Part-time adaptations could be discussed on applicant request.
