Executive Officer – Full time permanent role working within Uniting’s Social Impact and Advocacy Directorate Hybrid model

As an Executive Officer for the Social Impact and Advocacy Directorate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of Directorate strategies and managing content for committee and leadership meetings.
Working three days a week from our Sydney CBD office at Pitt Street and two days remotely from home is the proposed arrangement. Flexibility is expected for occasional office attendance beyond the regular schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a valued advisor to the General Managers and Directorate leadership team, taking ownership of a diverse range of issues and projects.
- Act as a key liaison for the General Managers, fostering collaboration across Uniting and representing them on organisation-wide projects.
- Develop systems and processes for efficient flow of information to and from the General Managers and their direct reports.
- Project manage and contribute to General Manager-led engagements to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
- Organise, prepare agendas for, and take minutes at leadership and committee meetings, ensuring alignment with directorate and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare briefs, reports, and correspondence for the General Manager, conducting research and providing strategic advice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- 7 or more years of experience in a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Ability to work across all levels in a large, complex organisation.
- Strategic and tactical thinking.
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders, and high cultural sensitivity.
- Proven experience working collaboratively with senior executives.
- Ability to ‘manage up’ with tact and sensitivity.
- Troubleshooting skills and adaptability.
- Intrinsic motivation with a commitment to continuous improvement.

- Broad experience in advisory roles within government, business, or peak body organisations.
- Experience working in a values-based organisation.
- Understanding of the Uniting Church.
