Seniors Rights Service has been assisting older Australians as the leading provider of legal services, aged care advocacy, education and information to seniors in NSW since 1986. We raise awareness and empower older people to activate, uphold, extend and defend their individual rights. We achieve our purpose by providing accessible and confidential legal services, aged care advocacy and information.
About the Opportunity
The Executive Officer role encompasses the efficient management of the Executive Office and the provision of secretariat support to the Company Secretary, Board and Sub Committees. This includes offering strategic advice and recommendations, overseeing policy and governance matters, managing special projects, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement, as well as coordinating the delivery of services within set timelines both internally and externally.
This position requires you to be hands-on, strategic, and possess excellent problem solving skills while managing the day-to-day requirements and long term strategic plan. You will be responsible for various tasks including writing reports, drafting presentations, preparing documents and coordinating all activities for the Board and Sub Committees.
About you
To be considered for this position:
- Must have 6+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Possess excellent problem solving skills, attention to details and take pride in your work.
- An extensive understanding of legislative, governance and reporting requirements, such as ACNC and funding bodies.
- Be a strategic and tactical thinker with experience working with a board.
- Able to develop and communicate simple solutions from the diverse strands of information that come with working within an organisation that operates in a diverse industry.
- Have experience leading through others with the ability to apply tact and sensitivity while remaining outcomes focused and getting buy-in from stakeholders.
- Highly proficient with technology and software and possess demonstrated project management skills.
- A passion for social change and contributing to an organisation dedicated to supporting the most disadvantaged people in our communities is a must.
