The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of two years. There are good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
As Expert Programme Coordination & MEAL, you will report to the Head of Project and ensure the effective coordination of all project activities of the six partner organisations as well as the implementation of the project’s MEAL system. You will accompany and guide the implementing partners and regularly travel to the project areas to monitor progress and provide on-site support. Moreover, with the support of a Communication and Knowledge Management Expert, you will ensure the proper implementation of the project’s communication strategy and knowledge management system.
Your responsibilities
- Manage the project’s MEAL system, including the results-based monitoring of project indicators
- Coordinate and oversee project activities of the six partner organisations, including operational activity planning, organising regular meetings and follow-up, strategic guidance, reporting and evaluation
- In coordination with the partner organisations, ensure the timely preparation of high quality internal and external reports
- Identify institutional and personnel development needs in the area of MEAL and, subsequently, ensure the necessary support through training, coaching and/or day-to-day mentoring
- Prepare terms of reference, support the recruitment of consultants and external service providers and coordinate/guide them as required
- Ensure the establishment and proper functioning of a robust complaints mechanism
- Support the implementation of Multi-Actor Partnership approaches in the project
- Organise and participate in conferences and engage in representation and networking activities as required
- With the support of the Junior Communication and Knowledge Management Expert, ensure proper project knowledge management, including systematisation of project documents, lessons learned and best practices and the organisation or regular technical exchanges
- With the support of the Junior Communication and Knowledge Management Expert, and in close coordination with the implementing partners, ensure the implementation of the project’s regional communication strategy
- Support the elaboration of new project proposals, in particular in relation to theories of change and the logical framework
Your profile
- A university or college degree in humanitarian action or equivalent qualifications that are commensurate with this position
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in a similar position
- Regional experience would be an asset
- IKI, BMUV donor experience would be an asset
- Coordination and organisational skills, including ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and intercultural sensibility
- Readiness to receive necessary vaccinations for working in Welthungerhilfe’s project countries
- Excellent spoken and written French and Spanish and very good English; German language skills would be an asset
