The outcome of this consultancy will be the successful completion of the work by ERDCN, delivering a full report on the state of the art of the complex interrelation among debt, climate and nature.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Technical Secretariat Director, the consultant will have the following duties: – To support the technical secretariat Director in substantive matters.

– To carry on research on all the ERDCN topics, with specific depth in green growth policies and frameworks, future debt management and the related international financial architecture.

– To review the different drafts of the final report and other documents to be published in the framework of the ERDCN. – To coordinate research with the staff of the other members institutions of the TS. – To support the presentation of mid-term outputs and the final outcome of the ERDCN.

Qualifications/special skills

The consultant must be a professional in economics, finance or engineering and, preferably, with postgraduate studies in economics, environmental economics, and / or public finance.

the consultant must present evidence of at least ten (10) years of professional experience in research in the following topics: public finance, climate change, nature / biodiversity loss, sustainable development, and debt.

The consultant must have specific knowledge in debt management and sustainability; climate change, sustainable finance, public policies, environment, and sustainable development.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this position fluent English is required. knowledge of any other UN official languages is an advantage.
