The Department of Economics is looking to appoint a maternity cover for the External Engagement Manager role.

The department has experienced substantial growth and diversification in all areas of its external engagement activity, which has led to the creation of this high-profile role.

The department has an established summer schools programme which has the potential for further expansion under the right management. Activity in the areas of alumni relations and development (fundraising) is currently in its infancy; this is an exciting prospect for anyone with proven success in developing collaborative relationships to drive change which leads to positive financial and reputational impact.

In this senior leadership role, you will manage internal and external stakeholder relationships for the department to diversify its external engagement activities. You will be a creative and strategic thinker, an engaging negotiator and leader, and an effective networker to create and maximise opportunities for the department and its funding portfolio.

You will have demonstrable experience in external engagement including marketing, communications, and partnerships. With success in business development, you will have a track record of income generation and increasing engagement.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop and drive the external engagement strategy and lead on its operationalisation in both new and established areas for the department.
