Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is in the Engineering Section of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Torit. The incumbent will report to the Field Engineer, Torit.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Building Management Unit Supervisor of the Field Engineering Office, the incumbent will perform the following functions: • Ensure that UNMISS facilities are maintained as per the laid down procedure. • Supervise the maintenance / construction works performed by the ICs / Contractors. • Manage the performance of camp support services contractors in their day-to-day service provisions to various clients in the Field Office. • Mark & process the daily attendance of ICs and report any discrepancies to Office of Field Engineer. • Maintain an accurate inventory of all assets under engineering, including equipment, machinery, furniture, and other tangible assets. Develop and implement systems for asset tracking and identification. • Allocate materials used and consumed in Functional location in AUC (Asset Under Construction) in UMOJA. • Under instructions received from Office of Field Engineer, distribute ICs to the respective projects. • Make necessary coordination for the ENG Works with all stakeholders and respective sections. • Receive Engineering Works Requests (EWRs) from AMU, process approval of Field Engineer and handover the EWRs to respective unit supervisors of ENG Section for their necessary action. • Request & receive materials from Warehouse on behalf of all units of Field Engineering Office. • Maintain record of all Engineering Work Requests (EWRs) and forward to Field Engineer on weekly basis. • Provide feedback / status update to field engineer on all EWRs on monthly basis. • Brief new ICs / contractors on Rules and Regulations related to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). • After completion of work, handover the newly constructed / maintained facility back to users. • Carry out coordination for ENG Works within all units of Field engineering Unit. • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor and Field Engineer.

Education
High school diploma or High school certificate required.
Job – Specific Qualification
A valid Driving license is required. Solid computer skills, including full proficiency in various MS Office application (word, excel, PowerPoint) and other IT applications and office equipment technology is required. Relevant training in facility management is desirable.
Work Experience
At least three (3) years of experience in facilities management with a UN Agency or other international Organization is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to one (1) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in operation of heavy machinery is required.
Languages
Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of languages spoken in South Sudan is desirable.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
