JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences is searching for an organized and detail-oriented Facilities Representative to join their Facilities team.
Located on the University Park campus in State College, Pennsylvania, Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences is one of seven interdisciplinary institutes organized under the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research (OSVPR). We are at the forefront of pushing boundaries in life sciences. The individual hired will assist an existing Facilities team with a varied set of responsibilities.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Serve as liaison and primary point of contact for users of facilities to report facility issues. Utilize software reporting system to generate, report, and provide feedback back to personnel.
- Interact with faculty and staff to schedule events, downtime, and shutdowns in the facility. Make announcements to all users for any of these events or planned shutdowns.
- Act as assistant facility safety officer for Huck Life Science Building, Wartik, and Huck Instrumentation Facilities. Participate in EHS safety inspections. Aid faculty and staff with efforts to maintain compliance.
- Serve as Local Access Coordinator (LAC) for all Huck assigned spaces and be a P.O.C. to Physical Security for access management. As the LAC, manage the key inventory with Service Now Management and OSVPR AMS databases.
- Supervise and oversee event reservations within Huck conference rooms and spaces with the university approved platforms 25live and Microsoft O365.
- Assist with the setup and tear down of events by using university approved resources ie; OPP’s Labor and Custodial Crew through EZrequest work order system.
Background Check: This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
This job also requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (with or without reasonable accommodations).
Education and Experience: This position typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher and 1+ years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This is a non-exempt limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with the good possibility of renewal.
