Faculty Position – Cardiovascular Scientist

The Center for Cardiovascular Research in the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is expanding its faculty.  The primary mission of this Center is to transform the care of children, adolescents, and young adults with congenital heart disease and acquired pediatric heart diseases through research and clinical translation. About the Faculty Position:

• Seeking Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (Tenure Track at The Ohio State University College of Medicine)
• Candidates should have a research laboratory focused on pediatric cardiovascular disease and/or relevant basic science area
• Scientific areas of particular interest include blood vessel biology, gene therapy for cardiovascular disease, cardiac metabolism, and bioinformatics/data science
• Will establish an independent research program
• Will help revolutionize the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease in children

Qualifications Required:

• MD, MD/PhD, or PhD
• Strong track record of publishing in high quality journals
• Current K-award, R01 or equivalent independent grant funding is highly desired

About the Center for Cardiovascular Research:

• The Center for Cardiovascular Research integrates basic, translational, and clinical research programs to advance discovery of innovative diagnostic and treatment tools that will address major challenges in the field of cardiovascular science
• New faculty members will have strong ties to The Heart Center which houses the clinical cardiac program
• Principal Investigators are also Faculty members at The Ohio State University College of Medicine
