The Infections Diseases Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program (TCT-IDS) of the Infectious Diseases Department is recruiting a Faculty-level Pediatric Infectious Disease specialist position to support ongoing program activities and future development.
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Pediatric ID specialist will work with the TCT-IDS program and collaborate with TCT and other multidisciplinary teams in the prevention and management of infections in patients undergoing TCT. Additionally, collaboration with other institutional committees that lead to improvements in clinical care of the TCT population is expected.
The faculty member will be on the Clinical Track at the instructor level. Changes to rank may be considered depending on the successful applicant’s background and qualifications. Faculty are expected to demonstrate clinical competency and academic productivity appropriate for their rank and track to include including publication of peer reviewed products, and development of national/inter-national recognition as a subject matter expert in their field. The program seeks applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences, and these factors will shape the exact allocation of the incumbent’s efforts.
Job Responsibilities:
The pediatric ID specialist’s responsibilities will fall primarily within the following categories:

Consultation: As a part of the TCT-IDS embedded program, the specialist will provide clinical infectious diseases consultations in the outpatient and inpatient setting, including but not limited to pre-therapy evaluation, management of acute infectious complications, follow up at key milestones post TCT and re-immunization practices. In this role, the faculty will need to interact with different stakeholders throughout the institution, including care teams, families/patients, researchers, and other employees.

Administration: Supports program development and other administrative needs of the growing TCT-ID Program. Contributes to institutional projects, such as operational improvement efforts, policy development/review, and service on institutional committees. May provide oversight to clinical/medical trainees in activities involving TCT-IDS.

Education: Leads training sessions for stakeholders throughout the institution. Supports CME programming for clinical staff. Develops curricula and educational resources (training materials, print resources, etc.) to address TCT-IDS topics in collaboration with TCT.

Research: Participates in collaborative or individual research. Contributes to the field of pediatric transplant infectious diseases at a national scale through membership in professional organizations and presentations at leading conferences.

Minimum Education:
The successful candidate must have a doctoral-level, terminal clinical degree (MD or DO).
Completion of a pediatric infectious diseases fellowship program is required. Completion of a one-year fellowship program in immunocompromised host IDS is strongly preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Completion of an ACGME pediatric infectious disease fellowship program.
Completion of a one-year fellowship program in immunocompromised host IDS is strongly preferred.
Experience in pediatric infectious diseases consultation: 1-3 years preferred, but not required.
Evidence of participation in clinical research or QA/QI activities and associated academic products.
