Faculty Positions – Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor

The Desai Sethi Urology Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking to recruit outstanding scientists for faculty positions at the assistant through full professor levels. Applicants will have a primary interest in fundamental mechanisms of human biology. Some relevance to prostate, kidney, or bladder cancer is desired. These positions present exceptional opportunities to partner with an outstanding clinical urology program in a new institute where a principal goal is to translate basic discoveries rapidly to the clinic. The overarching goal of the institute’s research program is to define the underlying biochemical and clinical behavior of prostate, kidney, and bladder cancers in order to identify new strategies to prevent symptoms and death. Areas of interest include fundamental mechanisms biochemistry, metabolism and genetics.

Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or M.D., have an exceptional track record of accomplishment and funding, and be able to function well as part of a multidisciplinary team.  Excellence in scholarship should be clearly evident accompanied by the strength in research, education, and service. The successful applicant will be supported by generous start-up funds and joint appointments in the Desai Sethi Urology Institute and the NCI-designated Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Comprehensive Cancer Center is constructing a state-of-the-art cancer research facility, to open 2024, that will integrate basic science research and clinical care in a patient-centered environment.
