Faculty Positions in Bioscience and Biomedical Engineering (BSBE) Thrust, Systems Hub, HKUST (GZ)

The Bioscience and Biomedical Engineering Thrust (https://hkust-gz.edu.cn/academics/four-hubs/systems-hub/bioscience-and-biomedical-engineering) at HKUST(GZ) now invites applications for multiple tenure-track and tenured faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor). Although applications from outstanding individuals in any area of Bioscience and Bioengineering will be considered, the Thrust especially encourages applications in Cell and Tissue Biology, Chemical and Synthetic Biology, Biomaterial Science, Bioengineering, and Computational Biology. The Thrust is expected to grow substantially in the next few years in terms of academic staff, programs, resources, and facilities.

 

Applicants must have a PhD degree in relevant fields. The appointees are expected to establish an independent and internationally competitive research program. Teaching responsibilities include postgraduate and undergraduate courses.

 

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

Salary is highly competitive of international standard and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Generous start-up funding, ample laboratory space, and excellent research equipment and support will be provided.

All posts are tenure-track appointments in Chinese Mainland and to be offered by the HKUST(GZ) in accordance with the local employment laws and regulations.  Appointments at Professor rank and some at Associate Professor rank will be made on a substantive basis while initial appointment to tenure-track faculty at Assistant Professor rank will be made on a 6-year contract basis with a mid-term review.
