Visiting Scholar

The Department of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a Visiting Scholar to work in the research program directed by Dr. Susan Shea.  This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working research scholar who is a highly self-motivated individual.

Job description:  The incumbent will participate in NIH grant-supported research projects, including that of platelet storage involving temperature and hemostatic function

Requirements:  Candidates should possess an M.D./PhD degree.  They should be able to independently conduct literature research, design and conduct experiments, carry out data analysis, and report the results.  Candidates should also have an effective command of the English Language and evidence of effective writing and interpersonal skills.  Experience in bioinformatics analysis is preferred but not required.
