What you’ll do

You’ll support children and their families who are separated and experiencing high conflict. The role focuses on working with children and parents to adopt effective strategies for co-parenting. Providing family therapy, counselling, mediation and therapeutic case management, you’ll help families achieve an amicable outcome.

You’ll work with children and their families with complex dynamics which could include child protection, domestic violence, mental health and addiction issues.

The details

  • 3 days per week.
  • Approx $44-$49 per hour (depending on skills and experience) + super + salary packaging benefits.
  • Based in Wollongong.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Science, Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Family Dispute Resolution or equivalent, with an understanding of the systemic approach.
  • Experience working with children and families in conflict / crisis with a robust clinical framework.
  • Training and experience in child inclusive practice is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of child protection, domestic violence, mental health, and drug and alcohol addiction.
  • Calm, compassionate and firm manner when engaging with clients.
