Job Description

We are looking for a Family Engagement and Assessment Coordinator to join our highly collaborative and supportive team in being the first point of call for parents and/or carers who have concerns about their child’s development.

In this role you will:

  • Work collaboratively with families and their children to recommend the most appropriate supports to help them achieve their developmental and learning goals.
  • Conduct the initial screening and assessment processes to determine eligibility for early intervention supports.
  • Provide information and links to mainstream and community services.
  • Make decisions about the next steps to support the family and where appropriate, book an appointment for a face-to-face meeting with an Early Years Specialist.
  • New enquiries are accurately recorded on the NDIS business system.

Qualifications

If you have experience working with families and children in the early childhood sector, combined with a tertiary qualification and a passion to do meaningful work in the lives of those with developmental delays and disabilities, then we want to hear from you!

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Expert knowledge of child development and experience identifying developmental concerns.
  • Knowledge of local community and mainstream services as well as other supports appropriate for young children and their family.
  • Previous experience using developmental screeners, functional assessments and writing reports.
  • Experience providing family support, using a family focused and strengths-based approach.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to build rapport and develop respectful relationships with families and referrers.

Highly regarded experience / qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in early childhood or inclusive education preferred.
  • Lived experience of disability or carer of a person with a disability or developmental delay.
