The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking an experienced Family Partnerships Coordinator to join our family. Reporting to the Team Leader, Learning for Life and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will be working with families receiving the Learning for Life scholarship to achieve stronger educational outcomes for children.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Working in partnership to support Learning for Life families in overcoming potential barriers linked to school attendance and completion
  • Developing and supporting relationships with referral partners (mainly schools)
  • Recruiting potential Learning for Life scholarship participants to maintain program targets
  • Work with the wider team to refer Learning for Life students to in-school programs
  • Participate in relevant practice development and process improvement teams as required

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships
  • Demonstrated experience in administration
  • Understanding of the education sector
  • Demonstrated experience in working with disadvantaged / marginalised groups and communities
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility to respond to competing demands
  • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children’s Check
