Job description

  • Provide intensive wraparound case management services to children, families & caregivers
  • Salary packaging and competitive sector remuneration (SCHADS level 6)
  • Full-time max term position to April 2025 (Parental Leave Cover)

About the role

Our Family Preservation and Reunification Response Program promotes strong and self-sufficient families by supporting parents and caregivers to create a safe and nurturing home environment.

As a Senior Practitioner, you will provide intensive wraparound case management services to the most complex and challenging families who present with multiple demands.  You will deliver assertive outreach, undertake risk assessments, lead care team planning and develop creative interventions to engage hard-to-reach families.

Working as part of collaborative care team, you will assist families to address the safety and developmental needs of children and young people, and support parents to enhance their resilience and self-determination.

This is a full-time, maximum term position to April 2025.

What’s on offer

You will be working alongside a highly motivated and professional team, in a role that is both rewarding and fulfilling – who has been supporting vulnerable children and families as part of the Family Preservation and Reunification Response Program for more than two years.

In addition to base salary (SCHADS Level 6) and superannuation, you’ll also receive 17.5% leave loading and an ability to increase your take-home pay by accessing up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits.

We offer Paid Parental Leave for up to 10 weeks, 10% discount on Kindergarten and Childcare at Uniting Early Learning Services and there is also the option to increase your annual leave entitlements through our purchase leave program.

About you

You will have a degree qualification in social work, psychology or a child and family welfare related discipline and a current driver’s licence.

You will also have:

  • Considerable experience within the child, youth and family welfare sector including experience working with Child Protection
  • Demonstrated understanding of theoretical approaches relevant to working with infants, children, young people and families, including the Best Interests Framework
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake risk assessments and plan and implement appropriate intervention strategies to engage families
  • A strengths-based, child and family centred approach to case management, strong time management and communication skills
