ABOUT THE ROLE
Provide clinical assessment, counselling, case work, group work and therapeutic support to adults, children and families. You will also undertake intake and assessment interviews, and offer counselling and therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples and families seeking assistance with their relationships under the provisions of the Family Law Act 1975.
We are currently recruiting for 2 positions up to 1.0EFT based out of our Geelong and Wyndham sites. We are open to applications expressing an interest in preferred EFT and site.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- extensive child counselling, assessment and case management interventions
- individual, family / couples counselling, assessment and case management interventions
- client focused practitioner with demonstrated experience in fee-for-service delivery
- provide child consultations and feedback within the provision of family dispute resolution services to ensure the voice of the child is taken into consideration when parents make decisions regarding their children post separation
- provision of therapeutic counselling and group work interventions
- capacity and experience in managing and conducting an independent autonomous role
- strong team work skills and values, with excellent interpersonal skills
- computer literacy is essential
ABOUT YOU
You will be:
- A client focused practitioner with demonstrated experience in fee-for-service delivery
- A tertiary qualified Practitioner with Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or Family Therapy qualifications and/or postgraduate studies in Relationship Counselling or Family Therapy
- Minimum 5 years’ experience, you will be proficient in children/family counselling and supervision, and working in teams
- Registered with AHPRA or AASW or the equivalent Professional association
- Have proficiency in contemporary methods of counselling and family therapy, along with direct experience in the field; knowledge of Gottman theories and practice is an advantage
- Knowledgeable about the Family Law Act 1975
- Be eligible as a Family Counsellor under the Act
- Able to promote the profile of Relationship Matters across the community through providing professional, caring service delivery.
A professional in your field, you can work independently while working within a cohesive, committed and high performing team. Together with your exceptional level of ethical standards and well-developed interpersonal communication skills, you will have the capacity to manage and ensure high standards of practice.
Previous experience working in a human services environment would be highly regarded.
