  • Located in our Werribee Office, part time position – 3 days ongoing

Your role:

We are looking for someone with well developed assessment skills, the ability to effectively engage children, young people and their families, demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with families and the capacity to identify family strengths and competencies, in order to facilitate positive change. 

This position involves outreach and office based roles, group work and in-home skill development with the aim of strengthening parenting capacity, achieving developmental milestones and family resilience. The position will work in the Family Services team at Werribee but will have the flexibility to support our Child FIRST team undertaking screening assessments from time to time.

The skills you will use day to day:

  • A good understanding of the social context of child abuse and neglect and experience in applying relevant theoretical approaches to deliver outcomes.
  • Conduct risk and needs assessments using relevant and contemporary frameworks, theory, and practice models.
  • Case recording, data collection, registration standards and other requirements.
  • Partner with the family and the care team to develop and review action plans aimed at improving outcomes.
  • Active engagement of vulnerable children, youth and families and delivering a range of interventions to improve their outcomes.
  • Skills in case management, including developing community linkages.

  • You get a salary starting at around $94,000 plus super at full time.
  • Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card.
  • SCHCADS award level 5.
  • Negotiable through the increments dependent upon experience.
  • Pro rata the above salary to 3 days.
  • Part time 3 days per week, 22.8 hours.
