About the Opportunity:

You will provide intensive, targeted and coordinated support for parents and children who are vulnerable, at risk or in disadvantaged communities and to improve child development, child safety and family functioning by strengthening community capability alongside the East Arnhem Communities for Children Initiative. You will build capacity of remote teams to deliver evidence-based culturally informed programs, strengthen collaborative approaches and promote child and family friendly practices in the region. You will uphold the values of Anglicare NT and provide quality services within the scope of the position and associated delegations.

Position Specific Requirements:

  • Higher education qualifications in Social Science / Community Development or complimentary field of study.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ paid experience in relevant community service roles within the non-government sector.
  • Prior experience and demonstrated capacity to work with Aboriginal communities / organisations and peoples in an effective and culturally competent way.
  • Ability to support the design, delivery and strengthening of evidence based culturally informed early childhood, children’s and family support programs operating in remote locations.
  • Strong record of working respectfully with people from diverse cultural and language backgrounds and ability to undertake meaningful consultations and support two-way learning approaches.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months)and a current Northern Territory driver’s licence.
