Organizational Setting

The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.

Reporting Lines

The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.

Technical Focus

To subsidize the Department of Evaluation, Monitoring, Studies and Strategic Information – DAMEI/SE/MDA in the development of methods and tools for data systematization, monitoring and analysis of family farming and its policies, with a focus on ATER, allowing diagnoses to support more effective public action in favor of improving the living conditions of family farmers.

Tasks and Responsibilities

•    Perform analysis and data collection;
•    Prepare reports and data sheets, in a format to be specified, pertinent to the activities of this call;
•    Participate in workshops and meetings relevant to the preparation of the consulting products, upon demand of DAMEI/SE/MDA;
•    Subsidize and monitor the actions developed on the subject of consulting with the agencies involved;
•    To provide the MDA with information and parameters regarding the topic pertinent to this call;
•    Prepare the Work Plan and the Products as established in this call.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING: 

Minimum Requirements  

•    University degree in Agricultural Sciences, Exact and Earth Sciences, Engineering or Applied Social Sciences according to
the CAPES table of areas of knowledge.
•    Minimum professional experience of 4 (four) years in information technology, database, data analysis, systems development or programming language.
•    Working knowledge of English and Portuguese;
•    National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit

•    Knowledge about monitoring and evaluation of public policies.
