About the Role

The Father Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for connecting Community Champion fathers together throughout Australia and organising networking opportunities (virtual or in person). You will bring new ideas for recruitment of more fathers into the Community Champion program and help to increase the number of father Community Champions.

Days and hours are flexible but ideally you will meet with the Community Engagement Team once a month and stay in touch via email at least once a week. You will also attend the Pregnancy, Babies and Children’s Expo in your state for the weekend days.

Key Details 

  • Casual role commencing March 2024
  • Work from home anywhere in Australia
  • 16-24 hours onsite at local Pregnancy, Baby & Children’s Expo event (over 2 weekend days); and approximately 40 additional hours throughout the year
  • SCHADS Award Level 4.4 – $55.85 per hour + penalty rates 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Consider creative approaches, including social media, to recruit more fathers into the PANDA Community Champions program
  • Actively engage with current PANDA Community Champions who are fathers
  • Develop ideas and opportunities for Community Champion fathers to come together, network and elevate the voice of lived experience within PANDA and the community
  • Assist the Community Engagement Lead in ensuring content and delivery of the Community Champions programs is father inclusive
  • If you are based in VIC, SA, QLD, NSW, or WA, you will be expected to attend the Pregnancy, Babies and Children’s Expo in your state for the weekend days, alongside the State Community Engagement Coordinator

Key Selection Criteria 

  • Father with a lived experience of perinatal mental health (consumer or carer)
  • Experience in recruitment (employee or volunteer) with strong computer literacy skills and confidence working with a variety of databases and systems
  • Commitment to the rights and interests of expecting and new parents and their families who are affected by perinatal mental health
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • High level written and oral communication skills – must be comfortable speaking to large groups and representing PANDA at large events

This role can be undertaken while working from the office, working from home or a hybrid model of both. Applicants must have access to reliable internet and a suitable home working office space in order to perform the duties of the role safely and effectively. 

About PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia)   

PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia) supports parents and families during pregnancy and throughout the first year of parenthood. PANDA operates Australia’s only National Perinatal Mental Health Helpline for individuals, their families, support people and health care professionals.  

Our phone and online services provide access to counselling and information to support mental health and wellbeing, informed by evidence and the expertise of people with lived experience.
