Based at the British Embassy in Lisbon, Portugal, our new Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Contract Management Team Lead will be the driving force behind a newly formed, high-impact team dedicated to delivering commercial excellence across the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’s (FCDO) global digital portfolio. |

What You Will Do:
- Build and lead a team of six contract management professionals in Lisbon.
- Act as the FCDO’s primary interface for strategic supplier relationships and contract performance.
- Manage critical DDaT contracts, ensuring value-for-money, compliance, and innovation.
- Influence senior stakeholders across the UK and Europe, including the Information & Digital Directorate and Consular & Crisis Directorate.
- Champion digital tools and data-driven approaches to enhance transparency and efficiency.

What We Are Looking For:
- Proven leadership in commercial contract management, ideally in the DDaT sector.
- Strong experience negotiating complex contracts and managing supplier performance.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to see the big picture and make effective decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, IT, Economics, or Finance.
- International experience and familiarity with UK/EU procurement legislation are desirable.

Key Roles & Responsibilities: This is a hands-on role leadership requiring strong contract management, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and influencing skills. You will work closely with stakeholders across the supply base and the wider FCDO. Contract Management The jobholder will be responsible for contract managing a small number of critical contracts as well as leading the team to provide contract management services and support across the FCDO DDaT contract portfolio.

- Formal qualification in Procurement or Commercial discipline (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply CIPS or its equivalent)
- Knowledge of relevant UK and EU procurement legislation
- Experience of working with e-procurement tools

This is a full-time, permanent contract for 35 net working hours per week, subject to a 180 days probation period. This role is based in Lisbon, with occasional travel required to London, Scotland, and Vilnius. We are flexible on travel requirements and open to discussing individual circumstances
The British Embassy in Lisbon aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role of €60,021.19 gross annual salary paid in fourteen instalments; plus a monthly meal allowance of €193.60. This salary is payable if the successful candidate is subject to individual income tax (IRS) in Portugal on the employment income in question. If the successful candidate is not subject to individual income tax (IRS) on their employment income in Portugal, and/or is not taxable elsewhere on such income, s/he will receive the above salary minus a reference amount approximate to the level of Portuguese tax that would be applicable if the income were subject to tax locally. Further information on this will be given to candidates during the recruitment process.
All staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Portugal are subject to local Portuguese employment law as well as internal regulations in force at any given time.
The successful candidate will be subject to a professional background and security clearance and must have pre-existing work authorisation for Portugal in order to apply.

The Embassy will not consider applications from existing staff who have not successfully completed their probation period or, in the case of staff on temporary contract who have not yet completed two thirds of their contract.

Working Pattern: 35 net working hours per week as per Lisbon local staff Terms of Service. The Embassy’s flexible working policy currently allows for staff to work remotely for up to two days a week.This role is based in Lisbon, with occasional travel required to London, Scotland, and Vilnius.
