Main purpose of the role:

Providing security guarding service to ensure the safety and security of Embassy staff members, visitors, customers and contractors as well as protecting all properties within Embassy/Residence premises. Remaining alert and vigilant and pro-actively responding to incidents and emergencies in accordance the established security instructions and procedures. The British Embassy Vilnius is a professional, friendly and inclusive team, which supports the development and wellbeing of all its staff members. This role would suite a proactive, team player, preferably, with experience of working in a security role. What will you be expected to achieve?

Essential qualifications, skills and experience
Essential on arrival:
- Completion of Secondary School.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Language: professional proficiency in English (at an intermediate level);
- Proven track record of working well in a team but also autonomously.
- Ability to work shift patterns (including weekends, nights and public holidays) and to be flexible regarding taking on extra shifts to cover colleague’s absences.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Desirable:
- Proven experience in performing guard duties, maintaining site security and safety would be beneficial;
- Language: ability to communicate effectively in Lithuanian.

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12h shift pattern (including night shifts, weekends and public holidays), permanent contract, S1 grade position.
The start date for the position is as soon as possible, subject to the availability of the candidate and the length of the recruitment process.

- A base monthly salary EUR 1,439.00 (gross).

- Security leads in the Embassy, alongside the regional security advisor and manager, will support the job holder to develop their understanding of the security priorities for the Embassy.
- 40-hour working week, 12h shift pattern (including night shift).
- 22 annual leave + 14 public holidays
All applicants should have the right to live and work in Lithuania. The British Embassy does not sponsor for work permits. Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Vilnius are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Lithuanian employment law.
Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Lithuania and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract.
Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure you meet the legal requirements to live and work in this country. Permits to live and work in Lithuania should be obtained prior to the employment.
