Functional Role

Ashuor Foundation is seeking a qualified Field Assistant to support implementing the R&R project activities in the field. The Field Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of project activities at the grassroots level. They will be responsible for providing direct support to the project team, liaising with local stakeholders, and contributing to the monitoring and reporting of project progress.

 

Responsibilities:

Project Implementation Support:

  • Assist in the day-to-day implementation of project activities in the field.
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders, including community leaders, government authorities, and beneficiaries, to ensure smooth project operations.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of project assessments, surveys, and data collection exercises.
  • Provide logistical support for field activities, such as arranging transportation, accommodations, and necessary supplies.
  • Monitor project progress and identify any challenges or bottlenecks, reporting them to the Project Manager.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Liaise with local community members, authorities, media actors, and other relevant stakeholders to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Facilitate communication and information-sharing between the project team and local stakeholders.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in community meetings, consultations, and awareness-raising activities.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Collect and compile field-level data and information to support project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Maintain detailed records of project activities.
  • Monitor the implementation and the progress of project activities implementation whether direct implementation or through partners.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Essential

  • Iraqi National
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as development studies, social sciences, or community development.
  • 2 Years’ experience in a similar role of responsibility with NGO or INGO.
  • Proven skills in planning and management skills.
  • Proficient in the local language(s) and good working knowledge of the project area community dynamics, and context sensitivity.
  • Management capacity and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to generate assessment templates using Google Forms, KOBO, ODK
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (with a focus on Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

 

Desirable

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Willingness to travel to remote project locations and work in challenging field conditions.
  • Knowledge of ARD’s regulations and policies, and experience managing high-quality GCERF-funded project(s).

 

 

Language Skills:

  • Arabic native speaker
  • Fluency in English is proffered
  • Any other language is an asset.
