Job Description
Under the overall supervision of theHead of Satellite-Office (HoSO) in Marawi and direct supervision of the HSS National Migration Health Officer in Marawi; and in close collaboration with the Project Assistant (Field Coordination and Liaison) in Cotabato, the successful candidate is responsible and accountable for supporting the fulfillment of quality implementation of IOM health programming operations, particularly support in the administration of health components under the BARMM Resilience Activity in province and cities in Lanao del Sur and its neibohouring areas.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing, and monitoring health programs and initiatives tailored to the needs of local population in Lanao del Sur.
- Assist the preparation and support in coordination of health-related activities in alignment with the agreed purpose, scope and workplan, as guided by the National Health Officers.
- Support in maintaining proper and regular communication and collaboration with stakeholders such as health and non-health government partners, local Civil Society Organizations, community leaders, youth and private sectors in Lanao del Sur.
- Manage data collection records, mapping, and support in drafting monthly status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, and other forms of documentation related to the health programming.
- Perform various administrative and clerical tasks such as preparing the necessary activity logistic arrangements and requests such as documents, materials and resources for the smooth execution of activities and office functions in the province, as guided by the HSS National Health Officer and Field Coordination Assistant Lead.
- Support community engagement processes such as monitoring, consultations, focus groups discussions, information campaigns, surveys, mapping, trainings, and activities, with guidance from National Health Officers.
- Respond to general information requests and inquiries and ensure adherence to IOM’s protocols such as visibility, data protection, Accountability to Affected Population (AAP) and PSEA.
- Undertake duty travels in support of the programme.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, social science, education, management, community development, health administration, or a related field with two (2) years of relevant professional experience; or
- High School degree with four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in administrative and clerical management related to public health activities;
- Experience in the public health and/or health sciences sectors is an advantage;
- Experience in humanitarian or development operations and/or Government Social or Health Services; and
- Experience in liaising with government counterparts, including those in Basilan Local Government Offices.
SKILLS
- Excellent communication and writing skills with strong computer literacy, especially advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Offices;
- Strong familiarity with the context of BARMM and surrounding areas, knowledge of the issues and programs related to Public Health at the National and Local (Basilan, BARMM) level is highly desirable.
