Al-Tahreer Association for Development (TAD) is a non –governmental organization that aims at spreading the tenets of democracy, peace, and human rights with a focus on Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE). TAD has been working in Iraq ever since 2003, starting its efforts in Nineveh and expanding to the remaining Iraqi governorates. The association has conducted many training programs, provided counselling and implemented projects that support the building of democracy and civil society and promoting a culture of peace, and maintaining the relationship between individuals and diverse communities of Iraq
Al Tahreer Association is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Field Coordinator for a five-month project. The project aims to increase awareness and advocate for social cohesion, reintegration, and prevention of violent extremism (PvE) among communities and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in five governorates. The Field Coordinator will play a crucial role in mobilizing youth and women to actively participate in project activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Obtaining pre-required approvals from local authorities for any activities during the project period.
• Assist and contribute to the organization of community events, meetings and awareness-raising campaigns to promote social cohesion and reintegration during the project period.
• Support the implementation of youth and women’s mobilization strategies within host and displaced communities.
• Support the implementation of community initiatives and advocacy campaigns to enhance society’s awareness of the importance of social cohesion and the reintegration of returnees into communities in targeted governorates.
• Managing the flow of information between different parties. Keep all stakeholders informed of relevant updates, changes, or decisions.
• Ensure that all necessary documents are properly organized and accessible.
• Design and implement programs that empower young people and women through skills building, education, and leadership development.
• Collaborate with local organizations and partners to provide resources and support for community-led initiatives.
• Raising awareness about the importance of social cohesion, reintegration, and prevention of violent extremism.
• Advocate for changes in community policies and initiatives that contribute to sustainable peace and stability.
• Maintain documentation of the project stages and ensure that all documents are archived in an orderly manner.
• Work closely with the project officer, project manager, and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and implementation of the project’s activities.
• Monitor and assess progress in activities and report regularly on achievements and challenges.
• Build and maintain strong relations with local NGOs, government institutions, and community leaders.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for the implementation of activities, initiatives, and programmes, including travel.
• Perform other duties assigned by the project officer and project manager.
Educational and Qualifications Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (social sciences, law, etc.).
• Previous experience or knowledge in mobilizing society, empowering young people, and engaging women.
• At least one year’s work experience with NGOs.
• A good understanding of social cohesion, reintegration, and the prevention of violent extremism.
• Good communication experience and coping skills.
• Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
• Past experience working on similar projects in conflict or post-conflict situations is an asset.
• Effective communication in a fast-paced community environment.
• Open to proposals, collaborative teamwork, and commitment to accomplishing the mission.
• The ability to travel frequently to different areas of the governorate concerned and the rest of the governorates, as required and necessary.
• Flexibility in long working hours, especially in emergency situations, and depending on work requirements.
