Organisational context

 

Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) is a non-profit organisation that operates abroad in the context of humanitarian aid and development cooperation. It is a respected member of the international network Caritas Internationalis. Its foreign activities focus on the social sectors, developing livelihoods for the local population, and educating children and adults.

CCR’s mission in Iraq was established in 2017. Since then, CCR has assisted the vulnerable Iraqi population in 5 governorates: Dohuk, Ninewa, Salah Al Din, Kirkuk and Anbar.

The mission team comprises of expatriates and national staff. The organisation is registered and allowed to work in the Kurdistan Region and the rest of Iraq.

  1. Purpose of the Position

 The Field Coordinator (FC) will be based in Anbar (Saqlawia and Falluja District) Plain and is responsible for coordinating, consolidating, and ensuring the smooth implementation of program and operations activities while adhering to logistics, human resources, administration, and security procedures. This position is pending Donor approval. The Field Coordinator will assist the Project Manager – Team Leader in coordination and liaison with relevant CCR partners, including NGOs, INGOs, local authorities, and community leaders, among others, in Anbar to ensure meeting project deliverables.

 Responsibilities

 

  1. Implementation
  • Facilitate day-to-day implementation engagement with target groups including DoA staff and Farmers.
  • Support Project Manager – Team Leader and Agricultural expert in planning and executing monthly work plan.
  • Ensure two-way comprehensive communication between CCR and Farmers.
  • Coordinate with donor field staff and facilitate the donor monitoring visits.
  • Conduct mapping of agricultural inputs suppliers.
  • Work closely with the MEAL team to facilitate data gathering, registration, and end line evaluation of the project focusing on parameters related to sustainability, adaptability and utilization of new technologies
  • Coordination by mutual adjustment between support function (Finance, logistics, Procurement, HR), project leads and external stakeholders, through the design of effective two-way communications and coordination mechanisms
  • Support the Project Manager – Team Leader in creating clarity about the overall direction and needs of the project.
  • Manage the creation of sub-systems (Staff, volunteers, networks) based on the diversified needs of their activities requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by line manager.

 

   2. Quality Assurance and Staffing

  • Ensure Projects meet technical requirements including appropriate tools and curriculum for the target demographic.
  • Follow up with partner organizations when appropriate to monitor capacity and implementation quality
  • Research or develop tools for effective programming all livelihood projects.

   3.Representation in Anbar

  • Under the guidance of the Project Manager – the Team Leader coordinates with support departments to ensure the necessary approval from the local authorities and other key stakeholders are in place.
  • Assist the Project Manager in building the CCR’s visibility in Anbar among other local and International NGOs, donors, and local authorities.

 

  4. Reporting

  • Support Project Manager – Team Leader in developing donor and internal reports by providing timely and quality inputs.
  • Track the procurements and update the purchase request track list regularly.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing projects highly desirable in livelihoods and agriculture sectors.
  • proven experience in engaging with farmers, youth and community mobilization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, public administration or another related field.
  • Good computer skills – MS Office & database.
  • Good control and supervisory skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Arabic and Good writing and speaking skills in English.
