Job description

AFL SportsReady is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its workers. AFL SportsReady employees are required to maintain their ‘up to date’ COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) recommendations.

AFL SportsReady (AFLSR) is a national not for profit company that has facilitated employment and education for thousands of young Australians since 1994. While having a history of excellence in the football industry, we now work across sectors including the arts and creative industries, education, business and the broader sports and recreation to create education and employment opportunities for young people across Australia.

We focus on strengthening relationships, promoting respect & creating employment and education opportunities for First Nations people. AFLSR works with trainees located across Australia, with our head office based in Melbourne. Our Perth office is based in the Bentley Campus of Curtin University.

THE ROLE

This is a hybrid role, with time split between working from the office, undertaking site visits and working from home. As a general guideline, our current approach for full-time staff nationwide involves a minimum of 2 days in the office or undertaking site visits, and 3 days working from home. Any necessary adjustments on a week-to-week basis are managed between the individual and their supervisor. However, more significant changes require approval through a flexible work request. We welcome discussions with interested candidates regarding this flexibility.

For our Perth-based team our current model is 3-days per week working from the office and completing external site visits, and 2-days per week working from home. However, this is flexible and can change throughout the year depending on our business cycles. During onboarding and peak periods that require collaboration we are keen for our new starter to come into the office on a more regular basis, however over time this will be reviewed to make sure the balance is right between time in office, at home, and making site visits. We are open to addressing any questions and exploring how we can make this arrangement suitable for you.

The successful applicant will play an important part in helping young people to commence their career journey, settle into a workplace, and to provide employment coaching along the way. You will provide employment support to a case load of trainees, who are primarily recent school leavers undertaking traineeships.

This is a full-time position however we are open to discussion around a part-time 4-day per week arrangement.

The successful applicant will undertake metropolitan travel in Perth as well as limited regional travel in WA.
