Field Project Associate

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Field Project Associate will be mainly responsible for coordinating with different stakeholders at the field level, for supporting the formation of Community Forestry Associations and for assisting in the development of integrated mangrove management plans.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Project Implementation
• Mobilize Community Forest User Group (CFUG) members and community stakeholders for participation in project activities.
• Support the formation and registration of Community Forestry Associations (CFAs).
• Facilitate community consultations to review CFUG governance and support the drafting of CFA constitutions.
• Assist in organizing and conducting site-level assessments (e.g., mangrove condition, resource users, threats, etc.).
• Collect data and maintain records related to community governance and environmental assessments.
• Organize logistics and provide on-ground support for trainings on organizational development (leadership, facilitation, communication, etc.).
• Facilitate learning exchanges and regular meetings among CFUGs/CFAs.
• Ensure participation of both CFUG and non-CFUG members in training programs.
• Assist trainers/resource persons during training and events with coordination and documentation.
• Coordinate with township authorities for CFA registration and support official communications.
• Liaise with village leaders, CFUGs, and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely implementation of activities.
• Support stakeholder engagement processes for developing township-level mangrove management plans.
• Maintain detailed records of meetings, trainings, assessments, and community consultations.
• Document progress through activity reports, photos, attendance sheets, and community feedback.
• Provide inputs for monthly/quarterly progress reports and contribute to case studies and success stories.
Institutional Tasks
• Ensure that project offices and field operations are conducted to a high level of health, safety, integrity, environmental good practice and cultural sensitivity. This includes ensuring that field medical kits are in good order and taken out on every field trip.
• Ensure project activities are in line with IUCN’s Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) and the recommendations of the Social Impact Assessment conducted during the project design phase.
• Ensure that IUCN policies and guidelines are followed within the implementation of project activities.
• Represent IUCN Myanmar in external and internal IUCN meetings at national levels, as needed.
Other Duties
• Carry out any other duties as required by, and mutually agreed with, the line manager.
