Programme for Emerging Infection under Infectious Diseases Division is carrying out a child health and mortality prevention surveillance program that incorporates social and behavioral science activities which include collaborating with the local community and stakeholders in a rural sub-district to encourage community residents and partners to actively participate.
The Field Research Officer reporting to the Assistant Scientist, will be primarily responsible for developing and implementing community engagement plan and activities, preparing periodical reports, compile data and information and to attain the program objectives of conducting high-quality implementation within the guidelines of the CHAMPS protocol and organizational values. The specific areas of responsibilities include:

The specific areas of responsibilities include:
- Brainstorm strategies to identify different activities to engage communities more actively to achieve program objectives;
- Develop periodical work plan accommodating relevant community engagement activities and follow-up regularly;
- Facilitate monthly team meeting and produce necessary documents accordingly;
- Develop qualitative data collection tools, guidelines, metrics and detailed work plan for data collection;
- Perform primary and secondary data collection as necessary;
- Train team members on field implementation/data collection;
- Supervise and periodically monitor implementation activities as planned;
- Work with multiple team and maintain good communication;
- Demonstrate highest respect to the community people while working and interacting them;
- Prepare summaries, analyze data, prepare draft reports and presentations;
- Moderate community and stakeholders’ meetings and document process
Required qualification and experience:
- Masters of Social Science/Social Work/Anthropology/Sociology and relevant disciplines from a reputed university with good academic records;
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in direct work with community groups and local level institutions. Candidates will be given preference who have working experience in remote villages/communities.
- Have experience working with local stakeholders and institutions or organizations
- Experiences with qualitative data analysis
