Scot JCB are looking for a skilled plant engineer to join our growing team of field engineers based in or around the Exeter area.This is a field-based role where you will travel from your home directly to our customers sites, so we are looking for a confident and independent individual with a strong background in the repair and maintenance of plant machinery.Salary: Competitive hourly rate plus overtime and bonusWho are we?The Scot JCB Group is made up of Scot JCB, Scot Agri, SPS and SIA.Scot JCB has been supplying and servicing JCB machinery throughout Scotland and the North of England for over 60 years. Scot JCB is the largest JCB distributor in the UK and we pride ourselves on providing our customers with world class service.Key duties and responsibilities:

• Repairing and maintaining machines on customers sites as required to ensure conformance with manufacturer’s specification
• Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily on a phone or tablet
• Submitting daily timesheets and job cards
• Accurately ordering your parts and working closely with the parts department
• Working closely with the service supervisor
• Carrying out inspections and repairs of machines at our depot as required – in conformance with manufacturer’s specification and any regulations affecting their use
• Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine – and notifying appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment

The ideal candidate will have:

• Relevant experience and qualifications e.g. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ qualifications in Construction Plant Maintenance
• Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment
• Experience working on JCB Loadalls would be advantageous
• The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment
• Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers
• Good IT skills
• A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work
