Job Title: Field Service EngineerLocation: BoltonPay Range/details: £50,000 per annumContract Type: PermanentOmega are supporting forward-thinking company at the forefront of packaging technology, specialising in providing high-performance packaging equipment in their search for a Field Service Engineer to support an ever-growing portfolio of clients across the UK.As a Field Service Engineer, your time will be split in the field and at site, and you will play a vital role in the delivery, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of state-of-the-art packaging equipment. Your expertise in Mitsubishi PLCs will be key in ensuring smooth operations, as you will be responsible for fault finding, system design, and ongoing support. This role involves frequent UK travel and occasional international assignments, offering variety and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge machinery.Key Responsibilities – Field Service Engineer

• Commissioning new equipment at client sites, ensuring all machinery is fully operational and meets performance expectations.
• Troubleshooting electrical systems, including Mitsubishi PLCs, to identify and resolve issues.
• Conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on packaging equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
• Replacing parts and upgrading systems as necessary, providing long-term reliability.
• Collaborating with clients to offer technical support and recommend improvements for enhanced system performance.
• Training client staff on equipment operation, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Managing your own schedule to efficiently meet the needs of clients across the UK, with some overnight stays required.
• Completing detailed service reports to document tasks, issues, and resolutions.

Qualifications & Requirements – Field Service Engineer

• Time-served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications in electrical engineering.
• Experience in Mitsubishi PLCs, including system design and fault-finding.
• Previous experience in industries such as FMCG, food & beverage, or manufacturing is essential.
• Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to travel across the UK and internationally when required.
• Full clean driving licence.
