What you’ll be doing
This role will see you working with primary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities
to deliver curriculum-linked activities that will increase students understanding of nature and
the environment.
Your day to day will include developing, planning, and delivering courses in outdoor teaching
sites to students on science and geography school trips. This will involve leading groups of
all abilities in the local environment, ensuring you always have the health and safety of the
group in mind.
When you are not working in the field, you will also be happy to contribute to other aspects of
working in a busy education centre. This is a very active role, some weeks will be long and
tiring, but our tutors find this work very rewarding, and we promise you will too!

Where you’ll be based
Field Studies Council Epping Forest is situated in the heart of Epping Forest, an area of
around 2,400 hectares of wood-pasture stretching from Manor Park in East London to just north
of Epping in Essex.
Two thirds of the Forest have been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and
a Special Area of Conservation (SAC). Our purpose built, fully accessible centre has six
classrooms, and associated facilities, with direct access into our teaching sites which include
woodland, grassland, heath, and river.
As part of this position, you will also regularly be required to travel and work across our
London learning locations. We offer a range of courses across the Capital, using inspiring
natural and built sites including Bushy Park, Regents Park, Greenwich Park, Beckenham Place
Park, and Stratford.
Through working at a wide range of field sites, our courses can suit a broad variety of
educational needs. All our learning locations are fully accessible and are near tube or train
stations.
Who we’re looking for
You will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject and some previous experience of
teaching or tutoring. You will also be confident with producing and preparing various learning
resources. In addition, you will have:
