Eden Reforestation Projects is an international large-scale environmental restoration organization that employs thousands of people around the world to plant millions of trees in their own communities each month. Role Overview: The Manager of Finance & Administration will oversee essential financial and administrative functions and systems vital to effective, efficient, and transparent operations of IRE. The candidate is responsible for ensuring that finances are managed properly to reach ambitious environmental and community development goals.

Our ideal candidate enjoys managing detailed administrative and financial tasks as well as keeping the organization on track for meeting big picture deliverables. You must have a proven track record of successfully managing business growth in a dynamic work environment. You should also have excellent organizational skills, superb communication skills, and be able to handle time-sensitive and confidential tasks.

Although this is primarily a desk job, you will need to travel to remote rural places to audit and inspect equipment and supply procurement. You need to be comfortable traveling to rustic places of Brazil to oversee site inspections.

Specific duties for the Manager of Finance & Administration:

Finance Duties:

· Create, update, review and implement internal financial policies.

· Oversee accurate record keeping and data entry of all transactions.

· Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reviews monthly, determining the justifications of the balances in their true and correct numbers.

· Record accounts payable and accounts receivable.

· Develop monthly wire requests based on approved budgets.

· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

· Ensure that financial accounting systems are up to organizational standards, and that reports are submitted on time and with a high degree of detail and accountability.

· Perform cost optimization assessments and assist with new business development budgets.

· Initiate internal audits and spot-check operations on a regular basis.

· Drive country level budget preparation and ensure proper budget allocations.

· Ensure essential infrastructure for financial systems and salary payment can deliver on-time and according to appropriate employment standards and obligations.

Administrative Duties:

· Update and oversee the implementation of organizational manuals, SOPs, and other key items that ensure proper operations.

· Procurement in the purchase and maintenance of office and field equipment, ensuring a high level of transparency throughout the process.

· Evaluating products and suppliers according to key business criteria.

· Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns.

· Prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditions.

· Inspect equipment and supply delivery to ensure high quality procurement.

· Participate in regular meetings with colleagues in order to understand and discuss operational plans and projects.

· Initiate meetings with the National Director, Head of Programs, Area Director, or International Finance team members as needed to set goals, roll out initiatives, and adapt the administrative systems to our growing organization.

· Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, and procedures across the organization.

· Assess staff training needs to apply and monitor training programs.

· Nurture a positive and productive working environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

· Proactive management skills and leadership qualities

· Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, business, and/or administration

· High degree of integrity and proven success with enforcing financial policies

· Proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role

· Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures

· Experience using financial software (Quickbooks, Netsuite, etc.)

· Advanced MS Excel skills

· Knowledge of financial regulations and labor laws

· Excellent analytical and numerical skills

· Sharp time management skills

· Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data

· BSc degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics

· Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

· Excellent active listening, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills in an international work environment.

· Working proficiency in English

Plus:

· Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies in rural Brazil

· Professional qualification as a CFA/CPA is considered a plus

Salary and benefits:

· Starting salary is dictated by Instituto de Reflorestamento Eden’s established salary scale for this role.

· Equipment: IRE provides a laptop and relevant software for your role.

· Expenses: Work-related travel expenses will be covered by the organization in line with IRE’s travel expense policy when travel is required.
