Under broad supervision, support the accounting, reporting, financial and administrative functions of the Law School and provide support to the Budget Manager and Accounting Analyst.

1. Monitor, review, and verify accounting records and transactions for accuracy.

2. Manage student organization reimbursements, determine current financial balances, and correspond with student organization members.

3. Prepare, input, and verify standard and non-standard journal entries.

4. Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and resolve differences.

5. Research general ledger entries and prepare journal entry corrections when needed.

6. Perform routine daily accounting tasks as assigned.

7. Respond to requests for information and research made by University accounting personnel.

8. Maintain and update the Law School’s finance website.

9. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The Law School reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Requisite Qualifications :

  • Typically a high school diploma. Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or other closely related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience in a business environment or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities needed.
  • Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in an automated accounting system, general accounting principles, and spreadsheet application.
  • Ability to perform a variety of accounting tasks with speed and accuracy. Quickly learn the University accounting structure, procedures, and processes. Work well with a diverse population of faculty and staff. Develop good interpersonal relationships with University administrators. Resolve problems quickly.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Well-developed organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable in Workday financial systems.

Hiring Salary Range:

$23.00 – $32.00 Hourly
