Job Summary:

The Finance and Admin officer under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations and Finance, will manage and coordinate day to day finance issues including budgeting, budget control, cross checking all the expenditures, overseeing sub-grants, producing cash forecasts and keeping of finance and asset records and support the logistic staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations and Finance, the Finance and Admin officer shall perform the following duties:

1- Oversee the financial operations of the organization and prepare accurate financial reports on time and submit it to management;

2- Manage and audit all the outgoing and incoming funds in terms of projects and operation;

3- Manage financial control, assist in preparing project budgets, and make recommendations to the organization on budget expenditures;

4- Organize and settle the receipts of advance payments;

5- Prepare payment vouchers and ensure that all requests are supported and approved;

6- Control the project expenses to ensure that the payments are allocated in the approved budget lines;

7- Monitor the expenditures to ensure that funds are utilized appropriately by the close of the fiscal year.

8- Ensure that all purchase requests are processed prior to the payment and audit the purchase requests to ensure that all the required steps have been processed prior to submitting for approval;

9- Maintaining all financial records for projects and operations;

10- In consultation with Operation Director and Program Director, prepare payroll payments;

11- Assist in preparing and reviewing donor agreements;

12- Convert all the payable and receivable transactions in the accounting records;

13- Keep and update the report of assets on a quarterly basis; 14- Provide orientation and training to the organization staff on cost-effective management.

15- Any other task or duties that are assigned by the Director of Operations and Finance.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills:

· University degree in Accounting, or related fields

· At least three years of experience in accounting and finance management with NGOs,

· Very good interpersonal and verbal and non-verbal communication skills,

· Very good language skills of Kurdish, Arabic and English,

· Computer skills (MS Office pack; advanced level, Excel is a must)

· High professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace,

· Ability to maintain the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality,

· Conducting field trips and travel to other cities/countries as per job requirement,

· Flexibility with regard to long working hours or working in weekends if required.
