The Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) is the leading not-for-profit organisation addressing how the environment affects human health in the European Union (EU) and beyond. We work to shape laws and policies that promote planetary and human health and protect those most affected by pollution.
The HEAL secretariat is growing and getting busier and busier. To help manage this increased workload, and ensure that our advocacy and policy teams focus on effecting change, we are looking for a new Finance and Operations Officer to join our Brussels-based team – we need someone who:
- is passionate about HEAL’s mission and ensuring we can lead healthy lives on a healthy planet
- has a strong experience working as a finance and administration officer, preferably in the not-for-profit sector
- has excellent attention to detail and strong organisational and planning skills

As our new Finance and Operations Officer, you’ll join the Operations team where you’ll provide financial administration and operational support to the Head of Finance, the Director of Operations and the wider Senior Management Team. You’ll take care daily filing, bookkeeping and budget and accounting-related tasks, support regular Human Resources processes, and provide general administrative and logistical support to the team. You’ll basically help us run a tight ship!

- A full-time, permanent contract (part-time negotiable)
- A gross salary of 2,800 to 3,000 EUR per month
- Lunch vouchers and a transport allowance
- An end-of-year bonus (an extra monthly salary)
- A DKV hospitalisation insurance policy
- A complementary pension scheme (HEAL contributes 4% of your monthly salary)
- A net 154 EUR teleworking and internet allowance per month (our team works flexibly – from the office and from home)
- Up to 5 additional days of leave each year

You’ll be able to meet with and get to know lots of partner organisations and constituencies across the health and environment spectrum.
