The Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics is currently seeking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Finance team. This post will cover a range of financial administration, which includes purchase to pay activities, receivable transactions and the use of a finance system. On a day-to-day basis, you will be supported by the Finance Supervisor and will be working alongside other Finance Assistants, reporting directly to the department’s Finance Manager.
This is a key role where you will be working closely with various research groups and academics, as well as our other administrative teams within the department.

The Finance and related teams are supportive and keen to collaborate, encouraging you to approach your colleagues with any queries and escalate complex matters to the most appropriate person. Due to the array of activities, each day brings a variety of tasks, experiences and opportunities, ensuring that no two days are alike.
To be successful, you will have experience in financial administration and a proven ability to work accurately with a high level of attention to detail. You will have good organisational skills and the capability to prioritise your own workload.
You will be working with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, so you will need to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You will need to be educated to GCSE or equivalent and be competent using Microsoft Word, Excel and databases. It would also be desirable to have experience of working with R12 and in a busy office environment.
The post is available immediately and will be based in Sherrington Building, Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3PT.
