The finance team supports Brighton Students’ Union across all its activity which includes, commercial trading, student welfare, academic support, & sports club/society management. The team covers all aspects of management accounting, financial accounting and payroll management. This role supports the Finance Manager in the operational management of the finance function and provides proactive services to staff and student group leaders, enabling them to pursue best practice in financial management within their respective areas. 

Main responsibilities for this role include: 

• Daily processing such as cash allocation, invoice processing, finance administration and tracking expense claims and updating spreadsheet logs.
• Responsible for the Purchase Ledger and reconciliation of creditors control account and ensuring it agrees to aged creditors report.
• Ensure all purchases invoices are accurately processed and authorised by the budget holders.
