The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.

Job Overview/Summary:

The Finance Assistant will be a member of the Finance Department based in Ratchaburi under the supervision of the Finance Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring that high quality financial management and support are provided to staff where appropriate.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Assist daily checking supporting documents and ensure all the financial documents are properly filed and tagged per requirements.
  2. Assist for banking deposits/withdrawals to vendors and inform to all vendors by phone or Email for transfer confirmation, Send documents and follow-up on receipt from all Vendors.
  3. Assist Finance officer in preparation transaction of payment request for transfer to vendors by banking online (K Cash Connect Plus) and Preparation cheque.
  4. Ensuring accuracy of withholding tax calculation in compliance with RTG Revenue Department and submitting to finance BKK.
  5. Photocopy and scan all necessary documents. Stamp all transactions as “PAID” once each transaction has been processed and is ready for filing.
  6. Assisted with entry transactions and data in finance tools and Integra system.
  7. Coordinate closely with Operations team & Program staff to follow-up on invoices, Receipt for procurement of materials and supplies from supply chain staff and program staff to process payment.
  8. Coordinate closely with program staff to follow-up on cash advances by IRC staff to ensure compliance with IRC rules and procedures.
  9. Coordinate with HR/Admin and program focal points to support programs (LLH, WPE, PLAC, EH, MAL, HEALTH) and assist in preparing the program CBAs stipends payments on monthly basis.
  10. Coordinate closely with clinical program staff and Hospitals in Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi concerning EMR patients to ensure that expense claims are checked and paid promptly.
  11. Assist Finance part with inventory cycle count for CPW&SKB field office and TH&BDY camp.
  12. Learn and understand the IRC forms, process, procedure, rules, and regulations and strictly follow them for support finance department to orientation for new staff.
  13. Participate in weekly support team and monthly staff meetings and provide necessary and important updated finance information.
  14. Provide coverage of duties in the absence of the Finance Officer as required.
  15. Perform any other duties to support the Finance Department.

Position Reports to: Finance Manager

Indirect Reporting: Field Coordinator

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, or relevant field.

Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year with relevant work experience in a similar position and Experience with accounting systems.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, respond to urgent requests, and meet regular deadlines.
  • Fast learner with strong organizational skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Intermediate level computer skills – Microsoft office – Outlook, Excel, Word.

Other Requirements:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Thai preferable with interest in NGO work.
  • Available to travel as requested and handle pressure and multiple tasks.
  • Positive thinking with ‘can do and teamwork’ attitude.

Language Skills: Good command of Thai, and English language skills. Burmese or Karen is an advantage.

Working Environment:

This position will support two field offices in Ratchaburi and Kanchanaburi and will be based in Suanphueng, Ratchaburi. Available to travel as requested.
