The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.
Job Overview/Summary: The Finance Assistant will be a member of the Finance Department based in Mae Hong Son under the supervision of the Finance Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring that high quality financial management and support are provided to staff where appropriate.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist daily checking supporting documents and ensure all the financial documents are properly filed and tagged per requirements.
- Photocopy and scan all necessary documents.
- Ensuring accuracy of withholding tax calculation in compliance with RTG Revenue Department and submit to finance BKK.
- Coordinate closely with Operations team & Program staff to follow-up on invoices for procurement of materials and supplies from supply chain staff and program staff to process payment.
- Coordinate closely with program staff to follow-up on cash advances by IRC staff to ensure compliance with IRC rules and procedures.
- Coordinate with HR/Admin and program focal points to support programs (LLH, WPE, PLAC, EH, MAL, HEALTH) and assist in preparing the program CBAs stipends payments on monthly basis.
- Coordinate closely with clinical program staff and Hospitals in Mae Hong Son, Khun Yuam, Pangmapha, Maesariang, Pai and Chiang Mai concerning EMR patients to ensure that expense claims are checked and paid promptly.
- Participate in weekly support team and monthly staff meetings and provide necessary and important updated finance information.
- Assist Finance Manager to provide finance orientation for all new staff on finance procedures and policies as required
- Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
General:
- Alert Finance Manager on any suspected discrepancies and/or improprieties in expenditure and accountability of project funds.
- Ensure safe and responsible practices for financial management and cash security (e.g., cash handling procedures, cash payments/transactions)

Job Requirements:
Education: High vocational or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or relevant field.
Work Experience: Experience with accounting systems.

Working Environment:The position will be based in Mae Hong Son, a town in the North of Thailand, with regularly traveling in Mae Hong Son town and the two refugee camps in Mae Hong Son.
