The Opportunity:

UCF is seeking a Finance/Budget Analyst I with a desire to be part of a highly motivated and results-driven team. This position supports the Facilities and Business Operations (FBO) department to accomplish their goals, including accounting, internal controls, budget services, internal and external auditing, procurement, and payroll. The FBO Finance Center is a team of financial professionals who are motivated and strive for excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare day-to-day financial transactions, including: cash sales records, create journal entries, create customer invoices, and internal service deliveries.

  • Review and approve financial transactions – verify validity of transaction, validity of work tags, and budget compliance.

  • Provide support and a high-level of customer service to the operational team, internal departments, and external customers.

  • Prepare budget and general ledger reviews and routine account reconciliations.

  • Create and maintain business process documentation, and routinely evaluate current systems, policies, and processes to identify opportunities to optimize university resources by eliminating redundancies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6) . 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Related Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Financial certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

  • Higher education experience.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to keep confidentiality.

  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to work closely with leaders to support the resolution of financial issues.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
