The role

The Open University is recruiting for a highly driven individual who is capable of working independently, has good attention to detail and would like to be part of a busy finance team.

The Finance Co-ordinator role is part of the Finance Business Partnering team who provide high quality financial services and support to the Faculty of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)

You will assist the Finance Business Partners and Assistant Finance Business Partner to provide an excellent finance service to the STEM Faculty. This includes financial monitoring and reporting on externally funded projects, budgets, forecasting and providing costings in compliance with the University’s financial regulations and procedures and the various Funders’ terms and conditions.

Skills and experience

  • Do you have AAT Intermediate or equivalent, with evidence of exam success?
  • Have you had recent, relevant experience of working in a financial/accounting environment, focused on management accounts including budgeting and forecasting?
  • Have you got recent line management experience?
  • Can you demonstrate your knowledge and application of IT skills – specifically competent Excel user, capable of managing large data sets?
  • Taking personal responsibility for getting things done, ability to plan, prioritise and managing own workloads.
  • Can you work to critical deadlines and working under pressure without impairing accuracy while always maintaining a high attention to detail?
