Our internationally recognized programs which support youth, women, and other marginalized populations, focusing on three thematic areas of education, employment, and engagement. Key areas of responsibility
Finance & Accounting Tasks:
- Recording, reflecting, and communicating financial transactions and updates according to the project activities on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Settle WUSC financial obligations to suppliers as per WUSC procedures and guidelines.
- Double check records, including partners’ Financial Reports according to WUSC and donors’ financial procedures and requirements.
- Verify that all the receipts/invoices are correctly filed and they are meeting WUSC Accounting standards according to internal procedures and the financial manual.
- Allocate expenses under relevant account codes, and budget lines and post them in the accounting system.
- Archive all the relevant accounting documentation according to WUSC procedures.
- Support in preparing monthly closing documents by filling the monthly reconciliation forms for cash and bank transactions and organizing the cash count to be reviewed and signed by the direct supervisor or the Country Director.
- Support the Finance Manager in the preparation of required documents for financial/annual audits under the Finance Manager’s supervision.
- Manage the in-office cash under the supervision of the direct supervisor according to the financial Manual and procurement policy.
- Under the supervision of the direct supervisor, prepare the monthly payroll and other personnel finance settlements.
- Participate in procurement committees, budget revision activities, and budget development for new funding opportunities.
Financial Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor cash management according to the forecasts and payments schedule and report any deviations if any.
- Participate in the financial reporting (internally at WUSC, or to donors).
Other Duties:
- The Finance Coordinator is required to observe and uphold all of the privacy policies and procedures as implemented or varied from time to time. Collection, storage, access to and dissemination of employee personal information will be by respecting the privacy of all employees and maintaining any confidential information.
- Act as a focal person with the social security cooperation, income & sales tax department, bank, and Hawala Agents in coordination with the direct supervisor.
- Undertake all other financial or administrative duties that may be requested by the direct supervisor.
Education:
● A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or any related field.
Experience
● 3-4 years of experience in the accounting field, preferably in the Non-For-Profit sector.
Competencies:
● Excellent organizational and time management skills.
● Adherence to the Gender Equality approach and the values of social inclusion.
● Proficiency with information technologies and computer skills (Word, advanced Excel skills, the Internet, etc.) and familiarity with Google Drive and Gmail is an asset.
● Finance for NGO’s training course is an asset.
● Previous knowledge working on computerized accounting systems, and experience with SAGE50 software is an asset.
Languages:
● Fluency in Arabic and good command of both written and spoken English.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
● This is a full-time job position.
● Working hours and days are Sunday till Thursday, 8:00/8:30 A.M. – 4:00/4:30 P.M. with the possibility of working for extra hours in case any event is taking place.
