Role and responsibilities

  • The purpose of the Finance Reporting Coordinator position is to ensure the coordination of financial activities in terms of budget management and reporting for all of the mission’s financing contracts.

General responsibilities:

  • Prepares and submits budgets, reports and financial analyses.
  • Produces financial reports for each project regularly (monthly and/or quarterly depending on the projects) in donor format.
  • Provides up-to-date analyzes and required reporting of project and program financial status to the Finance Manager and Program Manager.
  • Supports the finance manager, budget managers, managers and field financiers in budget monitoring.
  • Ensures the preparation of project donor financial reports and submits them to the Finance Manager for validation before sending to the Regional office.
  • Supports the Finance Manager during the closing of the accounting year.
  • Provides technical support to Finance and Grants Managers
  • Supports budget managers in the preparation of expenditure plans and ensures the availability of funds (cash flow reporting).
  • Ensures the correct archiving of all support documents related to Grants.

Specific responsibilities: 

  • Ensures that budgeting, financial reporting and other financial processes comply with the Financial Procedures Manual, other NRC policies and the requirements of donors, auditors and authorities.
  • Conducts monthly analysis of the mission’s project portfolio and makes recommendations to the Budget Holders for the financial monitoring of projects.
  • Prepares the BVA (budget monitoring) and gives advice and feedback to program bases and specialists
  • Works with managers on the development of budget proposals.
  • Supports and advises programs in financial and budgetary management.
  • Prepares and participates in the facilitation of audits (document preparation, link with Compliance).
  • Maintains budgetary control and cash flow tracking for all bases.
  • Participates in the monthly preparation of the BRS with other members of the finance team and ensures that project expenses are taken into account, including the timely liquidation of advances to partners. It alerts management in the event of a blockage.
  • Ensures monthly communication on fixed operational cost budgets to colleagues in other support departments (UNHAS, HOME, TRAVEL, etc.)
  • Any other task assigned by his supervisor.

General professional skills : 

  • Professional experience as a Financial Coordinator in a humanitarian context or any other relevant experience.
  • Master in Finance, Accounting, Management Sciences,
  • Previous professional experience in complex and unstable contexts.
  • Proven results on position responsibilities.
  • Good knowledge of English an asset
  • Good knowledge of IT tools (Office and other software).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience as a trainer would be an asset.
  • Good knowledge of donor procedures would be an asset (ECHO, UN, OFDA, SIDA, NMFA, etc.).
