About the Farm Carbon Toolkit

The Farm Carbon Toolkit (FCT) is a leading, independent farmer-led UK enterprise. We support
farmers and growers to reduce their carbon emissions and increase their carbon sequestration.
For over 10 years, we have furthered the understanding of greenhouse gas emissions in
agriculture, providing tools for measurement and delivering projects that inspire real action
on the ground. 

Overview of this Role

We are seeking a Finance Coordinator to help us manage our financial systems in an effective
manner. This includes day-to-day bookkeeping, customer invoicing and purchase management,
together with assisting project financial administration, such as grant claim processes. This
is an exciting role within a growing and friendly team. Your work will play a key role in
helping to ensure our organisation functions well, with excellent financial systems and
processes. 

This is an administrative position within a remote-working organisation, where colleagues are based in different parts of the UK. For this role, we’re
seeking a naturally organised individual, who takes a conscientious approach to their work, who
is motivated, positive and self-starting. 

Contract: This is a permanent position, part-time, 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable: invoice preparation and processing of outgoing
    payments. This includes interacting with project managers to understand invoice or payment
    schedules and other information, and ensuring recoverable expenses are assigned to clients and invoiced appropriately. 
  • Financial administration support to projects: supporting project managers with grant claim
    processes and using our accounting software to generate reports.
  • Bank reconciliation of our bank account and prepaid company cards.
  • Reviewing expense claims: ensuring they are reasonable and within expectations and
    policies.
  • Payroll support: calculating, processing and updating employee salaries, wages, taxes, and
    benefits.
  • Support compliance related to tax and PAYE.
