Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grants and Compliance Officer to support the implementation of a one-year project focused on improving immunization uptake within communities by addressing social behavioral factors in Cameroon. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing grant funding, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and supporting project teams in financial and administrative matters. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to an impactful public health initiative and strengthen organizational capacity in grant management and compliance.
Responsibilities:

Grant Management:
- Monitor timelines, reporting deadlines, and deliverables to ensure timely submission of required documentation.
- Track expenditures and allocations, maintaining accurate records of financial transactions and budget variances.
- Coordinate with other project teams to reconcile budget against expenditure, identify funding gaps, and seeking reallocate resources as needed.

Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations, contractual agreements, and project-specific guidelines throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support regular reviews of project activities to assess adherence to grant requirements and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams on compliance-related matters, including procurement procedures, financial reporting, and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and reviews of grant-funded activities, addressing any findings or discrepancies.

Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit regular financial and narrative reports as per sub-agreement, documenting project progress, achievements, and challenges.
- Maintain comprehensive grant files, including contracts, agreements, amendments, and other relevant documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of donor presentations, briefing materials, and updates on project activities for internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of accountability and transparency within the project team by promoting adherence to grant guidelines and ethical standards.
- Support the development and implementation of systems and tools to enhance grant tracking, reporting, and compliance monitoring.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant management, compliance, or financial administration, preferably in the nonprofit or international development sector.
- Strong understanding of donor regulations, compliance standards, and financial reporting requirements for grants from government agencies, foundations, and multilateral organizations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex grant agreements and ensure adherence to terms and conditions.
- Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, SAGE) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for budgeting and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Fluency in English and French as well as relevant languages spoken within the project area may be an advantage.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with USAID, CDC, WHO, or other international donors is desirable.
