ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance Manager is a member of the management team and leads all the financial management, reporting and compliance for the organisation. The Finance Manager is responsible for the preparation of the company financial reports and the fulfilment of statutory and taxation obligations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and management team.
  • Drive financial planning and analysis to ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting to support informed decision making.
  • Deliver day to day financial operations within the organisation including payroll, invoicing, accounts payable and other transactions in accordance with financial policies, procedures, instructions and relevant legislation.
  • Implement and monitor the organisations financial systems, procedures, and internal controls to support the efficient and effective operation of the Finance function.
  • Maintain the integrity of data in the accounting systems, ensure financial risk management guidelines are adhered and assist to mitigate.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations/bank reconciliations.
  • Preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements, PAYG Withholding and superannuation as per ATO requirements.
  • Preparation and management of supporting documentation/evidence for the external auditors and grant providers.
  • Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements and Board reporting.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and cost-benefit analyses to optimise financial resources and ensure cost-efficient operations.
  • Manage the Rental and Reporting Manager.

Key selection criteria

Essential:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA or equivalent.
  • High level accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Consistently delivers high-quality work and is competent in all elements of the position.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a not-for-profit/housing organisation.
  • Driver’s License.
