POSITION PURPOSE
The Departments of Neurological Surgery and Neurology are recruiting for a Finance Manager. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Research Administration, the Finance Manager exercises independent judgment to make decisions regarding the non-clinical and non-research budgets in the Departments. The Finance Manager is the primary expert and liaison on the University-wide Financial Transformation (UWFT) initiatives and partners with centralized offices and staff to ensure all purchasing, reimbursement and travel expenditures are completed for over 300 faculty, staff, and trainees across the two Departments.
Responsible for managing budgets totaling $10 million, including revolving funds, external contracts, field advances, and education budgets, the Finance Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with State, federal, and University policies. This position requires an exceptional ability to conduct in-depth financial analyses, policy development, and strategic long-range planning.
